Release what no longer serves you, and claim what does

Whether you claimed your name, pronoun, or identity label 20 years ago or just last week, this ritual is meant to be a space where you can bring your whole self to be acknowledged and celebrated. In this ritual space we will fully acknowledge our whole selves before releasing names, identities, and pronouns that no longer work for us.

We will claim our whole selves from a place of profound self-love and agency, and call on our queer and trans ancestors for their guidance and strength as we move forward through an often-hostile world. This ritual is open for individuals of all spiritualities or belief systems—if something in the language or the ritual doesn’t work for you, feel free to ignore it and leave it behind. The ritual will conclude with a moment of community celebration and joy to carry us forward!

Note: Please bring a journal or notebook (loose paper not recommended due to the windy nature of beach weather) and pen or pencil, water to drink, and a small personal item for grounding. It may also be helpful to have a blanket or towel to sit on (or a folding chair if sitting on the sand is hard on your body).

This offering is sliding scale $20-$30
